A DONE DEAL – WELL ALMOST

Sorry for the delay in updating I was travelling yesterday so was unable to get this posted.

As you will probably have heard from the council and the unions we have reached a provisional agreement with GCC to enable us to settle the outstanding cases.

Essentially we have agreed things in principle to enable the strike to be called off.

The deal is provisional as nothing has been actually signed and the council still has steps that have to be taken. There are 2 major steps still to go – the first is the council confirming their funding. The second is working our way through a mountain of drafting and administrative steps.

The council also have to sort out agreement with HMRC on the calculation of tax.

At the moment the details of the deal remain confidential as they are still negotiations with other groups not on our team.

This means that we cannot give a precise timetable for when offers will be made and when you will get your money. It wont be this side of Christmas but we are looking at February / March 2023.

One big change to last time is that we are hoping to do this all electronically – via email which will be much quicker.
